Introduction

This document summarizes updates and fixes for prior limitations made to this release of Lightworks, and which are not described in the User or Installation Guides.

IMPORTANT:

1 - Any users running Blackmagic hardware will need to upgrade to the latest Blackmagic drivers 10.1 and higher, otherwise the Blackmagic Device will not be recognised in this build.

2- There has been some development regarding the Lightworks Console on Mac. It is strongly recommended all 10.8 users with a Lightworks Console upgrade to the latest version of Mac OS X 10.10 (Yosemite) The FTDI driver available on the Downloads page must NOT be used on Mac OS X 10.9 (Mavericks) or higher, due to kernel panics. The necessary driver that will control the Lightworks Console is included in the OS (10.9 and higher) If you are running 10.9 or higher with a Lightworks Console and you installed the FTDI driver, you must uninstall it. Instructions are below:

  1. Open a Terminal (Applications->Utilities->Terminal)
  2. Type: cd /System/Library/Extensions and press Enter
  3. Type: sudo rm -r FTDIUSBSerialDriver.kext and press Enter, followed by your password
  4. Reboot the system
