Hi all,

I recently got the files of a project offline. I repaired the files and Lightworks find them properly. I have got video, and the audio files shows the waveform. However, some audio files do not sound. They are present but are mute. Any idea how to fix this? I am in Fedora Linux and Lightworks 14.5 by the way.

Thanks

Are those mp3 audio files?
I ask, because up to version 14.5 mp3 files are always transcoded, and the automatic repair only links to the original, which can not be played at 14.5, but probably at 14.6.

Works "Medie"> "Reveal"?
If so, which file path does Lightworks use?

Do you have a backup with included local media?

Hi, yes they are mp3. So I have no hope to relink the files but the 14.6 or rather convert them to wav and replicate what I have done. No way to replace the mp3 file with wav files and somehow relink them?

thanks

I see the following possibilities:
1. if you can live with the bugs in the current beta 14.6, then you could continue working in the version 14.6 because 14.6 can use mp3 directly.
(of course never forget the project backup before you use a beta).

2. manual repair in 14.5:
Re-import and either replace the segments, etc....,

... or Re-import and at file level in the Lightworks Media Sound folder, assign the newly created wav files to the old file names. However, the automatic repair process probably changed the linking, so I don't know if it still works now. A backup without media could at least restore the link status to the sound folder.
So version 2 is not that easy.

I also have an old project that only works with 14.6.

thanks for the answer, I will try with one file the third option, otherwise the 14.6 is the solution.
