Hi guys never had this issue with previous edits with same camera and settings .Audio plays back fine in other edit systems and on camera but when imported to LW its a screeching static mess? Any clue as to why?? Thanks in advance.

Hello,

Are you still running the beta release?

Yes could that be an issue here? Also on a some what unrelated topic. I have found files on an external hard drive that is visible on my desk top does not show up in my "Local Files" within Light works. How ever if I drag and copy those same files out of the hard drive to the desk top Light works sees them?? This seems intermittent so hard to trouble shoot.

I'd suggest downloading and installing Lightworks V14.5, the current stable release, to see if it fixes the issue.

However, it could be that your media are captured in formats not well suitable for video editing or not well supported by Lightworks.

If V14.5 doesn't fix the issue, please post your computer details, including operating system, and a Mediainfo report of files which make trouble. I've posted a link to further information already here: www.lwks.com/index.php?option=com_kunena&func=view&catid=14&id=208197&Itemid=81

I already tried that and had even worse luck with 14.5. As every time I tried to import it would crash. And no this media was captured the same way I did on previous edits on the same mac and was successful. IE nothing at my end has changed from one successful edit to these new issues? Will look at your link

Check your meter levels on the Lightworks mixer. Any levels above indicated 0 will be clipped and distorted. The meters are calibrated in DBFS. -18 DBFS = 0VU analog. 0DBFS is clip point.

Without the requested information, I doubt that anybody on this forum can find out what's the cause, and you'll stay with the weird sound, without knowing the cause.

I will be patient.

Just to say, I'm pretty sure that we will find a fix for you, maybe even for other trouble you've encountered, but without knowing what to fix, it's difficult to suggest how to fix and, I'm a declared enemy of discussion driven by wild guessing.
