As far as Windows users are concerned schrauber is quite right. Even if you run SlowMoVideo as a standalone program in Windows it reports an error because it can't load the flow program and suggests that you compile it.

Whether it's free software or not, that is very bad software design! A misleading error message with a very misleading "solution" is posted. Neither the error nor the "solution" is appropriate for Windows users. Nor, if the program always attempts to default to the flow program, could it really be considered "optional".

When this software was recompiled for Windows the call to the flow software should have been skipped or removed. If the program is properly designed it should be a simple modification. It should be a compile-time switch.

SlowMoVideo's error reporting is also at best rudimentary. If you don't know enough not to set up conflicting output options the best you will get is a generic ffmpeg error. This is absolutely no help to the non-expert user.

In summary, this is not software designed for the novice user, nor even arguably for the user without a programming background. As far as I'm concerned it should not be used as an assistant application for Lightworks in Windows unless the user is prepared and able to get it going to their own satisfaction.

It is definitely not a general purpose Assistant Application in its Windows incarnation.

I realize this is a rather old thread and I may not get much assistance, but here goes:

When running this as an Assistant Application, the video files which are 1920x1080 dimensions are somehow converted to 1280x1080. This yields video or PNG output which is "smashed" and does not maintain the source files' aspect ratio.

When running SlowMoUI.exe on its own, the video files and/or PNG output maintain the source file aspect ratio & dimensions.

Any thoughts about how to avoid this? Or can I simply not use this as an Assistant Application and must use it stand-alone?

I begin creating files with "slowmo"
0,2-Speed (20%) is my default setting for everything.
Importing and ...
If I need a 50% slow motion: Lightworks setting 250% -Speed
(0.2 x 2.5 = 0.5 = 50%)
