When launching Boris on a newly applied effect, independently of project frame rate and 'Video.Output.Format' setting in Lightworks, 'Project Settings' in Boris show always 1080p24.

Not matching resolution in Boris and Lightworks can lead, depending on the effect, to shifted positions (read: significant differences between preview in Boris and Lightworks), not matching frame rate leads to wrong preview speed after rendering to RAM in Boris. Consequently, frame rate and (more important) resolution in Lightworks and Boris must show the same values. This has to be done manually in Boris from 'Edit.Project Settings for each effect, as far as I know. This isn't a game stopper, but one has to be aware of it and it's quite inconvenient.

Does anyone know a way how to pass the Lightworks project settings to Boris without the need to adjust settings different from 1080p24 in Boris manually after first launch for each effect?

That's a reference to the plan to support OFX in Lightworks.

I wonder what a reference to a non-existing feature has to do with my question?

But if lghtwrks answers to my "what?" he could explain this in more detail.

Aha.

So all in all, you say it isn't possible, and that's how it always was, and you think that we have to live with it forever with the Boris plugins, but you hope that something similar won't happen with the OFX effects announced for some future release and, hope dies last?

OFX has a tighter integration, ...

All OFX spatial coordinate systems have the positive Y axis pointing up, and the positive X axis pointing right.

As stated above, images are simply some rectangle in a potentially infinite plane of pixels. However, this is an idealisation of what really goes on, as images composed of real pixels have to take into account pixel aspect ratios and proxy render scales, as such they will not be in the same space as the image plane. To deal with this, OFX has three spatial coordinate systems

The Canonical Coordinate System which describes the idealised image plane
The Pixel Coordinate System which describes coordinates in addressable pixels
The Normalised Canonical Coordinate System which allows for resolution independant description of parameters

The problem isn't about the used coordinate system, it's about Lightworks initializing, as it appears actively, any newly invoked Boris effect with 1080p24, no matter what the project settings are. If true, this means two things: The Adobe API (the library used with the Boris plugins) allows passing those parameters, but Lightworks fails to pass them for whatever reason.

the Prem.-API is just too old. neither lwks developers nor boris devs will renew it. the next step is OFX.
but it is not really hard to set it manually.

@The problem isn't about the used coordinate system ...

it is.
the new one is resolution independent...
