This guy is know as radical supporter of 24 fps cinema, but I find he has some good arguments:

I'm not particularly surprised at his reaction. As he pointed out early on, there have been attempts to work in higher frame rates than 24 in the past, and for various reasons they have not taken off. However his summary where he in essence said that it was unlikely to take off for cinema release I think is probably true.

However cinemas are not necessarily the future of the entertainment industry. High frame rates bring with them a whole slew of technical issues which can all be overcome if you throw enough money at them, but for a shrinking cinema market that probably isn't justified.
