I just bought the pro version and started a new project.
I wanted to import videos from a phone. Some of them i can import without problems, while others the programm cant analyse the frame rate? i think.

But all of these videos were recorded on the same phone and on the same day.

I have literally no clue why some of them work and some not. Does anyone here have an answer to this problem

greetings
nina

It's possible that your phone is recording HEVC, which isn't supported by V14.5. However, the V2020.1 beta does, so it may be worth installing that to see if it works for you. It's very close to release, so is pretty stable.

If you wish to continue with V14.5, please follow the directions in this sticky. www.lwks.com/index.php?option=com_kunena&func=view&catid=23&id=66072&Itemid=81

Do the same if your videos won't work in V2020,1.

Hello thank you for your reply (im sorry i only noticed it now)

I installed the new version and the programm doesnt crash anymore so thats amazing. The videos that couldnt be analyzed before now say "variable" under the frame rate, which is the same then the other videos in the project.

This is the mediainfo of a video that doesnt work:

Hello,

A resolution of 640x352 is very uncommon for contemporary smart phones. I even don't know a phone where I can adjust the camera resolution to a value as low as this.

What device/software has been used to capture those files?

i just noticed that there is aparently a difference in the audio format, the videos that dont work have AAC, the ones that work have PMC.

Are there good reasons why you didn't share audio information with the Mediainfo reports posted above and, for not answering my question?

sorry, i only saw your replies now in my emails and not before.

Its a Samsung from 2 years ago, i dont know the exact Modell its not my phone.

and concerning the mediainfo i just posted everything i saw in the field maybe there is more, i will check once i'm home. i noticed the Audio difference in lightworks when i checked it again.

i'm not an expert in this its a bit difficult to understand whats important and what not. Because all of the Videos are from the same phone, recorded on the same day, it makes very Little sense to me, why some of them have Problems with this Programm.... that i now paid a lot of Money for

Frame rate : 29.932 FPS

You seem to have a non standard target frame rate, although close to 29.97 fps, it may be enough to throw things out, although you say this one works.

Frame rate : 30.000 FPS

This is a standard frame frame, although it's strange that it's the one that doesn't work, since it's usually the other way around where there is an issue.

Sometimes, phones create strange video streams which are not well suitable for video editing. Nevertheless, without changing settings on the phone, it's surprising to me that the recording format of the audio has changed.

I would think, you should convert all the files recorded with that phone, prior to import, to stay away from trouble. I'd suggest using Handbrake for this and setting the frame rate to 30 fps for all. Here you'll find suitable settings:

www.lwks.com/index.php?option=com_kunena&func=view&catid=23&id=166802&Itemid=81#209009

Let us know how that works for you.

Edit: When saying all, I mean not only the files which make trouble when importing, but also those which are importable.
