Hello
I am using free version of Lightworks
When I import gameplays (.mp4) they are in 2560x1080 (i have widescreen monitor) but after while they change to 1980x1080 (movie have side stripes cut). Thise problem didn't exist when I only use one movie (cause Lightworks don't have time to change the format of imported file).
Please, I need help.

Sorry for my English.

Hello and welcome!

Widescreen 2560x1080 until now is only used for computer monitors and isn't a standard broadcast format supported by Lightworks.

As a user of Lightworks free you are limited to an aspect ration of 16:9. 1280x720p for file based output and 1920x1080p for Vimeo upload. The pro version supports other aspect ratios, 21:9 isn't one of them.

Most likely you will run also into trouble with computer performance trying to edit MP4 2560x1080 natively.

To find out what's the best way to proceed for you more information is needed. It depends on your video format and the computer you use. Please refer to this sticky: www.lwks.com/index.php?option=com_kunena&func=view&catid=23&id=66072&Itemid=81#

Please add also information about the software you use for screen catures and your computer details (OS version, CPU, RAM, GPU, hard drives).

I don't believe that's the case. The aspect ratios supported in the free version are standard broadcast 16:9 and 4:3 as I understand it. The upper limits are as you suggest, but I believe that you can export as low as 320x240 media.

That doesn't help Clechomski, but for other users who may find this thread it's important to clarify.

Hi jwrl,

Aspect ratio 4:3 isn't supported on export with Lightworks free (unfortunately, I'd appreciate to have it).
240p is selectable which exports to 426x240 (16:9). MediaInfo example below (video only):

The same is true for all other selectable resolutions, aspect ratio 16:9.

My understanding was that 4:3 was available, and unfortunately I don't currently have a free version available to check it.

jwrl,

in addition some standard 4:3 formats aren't usable on import because they are automatically stretched to 16:9 under certain conditions not easy to explain.

I assume that's also true for the pro version.

Believe me, I'd truly appreciate if you could correct what I'm saying.
