Hello QScan users!!

In this post, we want to introduce Macros and how to make the best out of them.
Macros is a very powerful tool in QScan, that allows to create complex detections by combining different parameters with boolean operations.
That is, with macros, you will be able to detect things such as:
Only black frames that are missing the audio
Only freezes that are not black frames
Only freezes that are not stills
Test tones: by combining the frequency and level of the audio
Blanking lines excluding those detected in black frames
Drops, excluding noisy scenes
Many more
But that is not the only benefit of macros, since they also allow you to create templates that are independent of frame rate, resolution, etc.
In other systems, you need to have a template for each frame rate, for each resolution, etc. But not in QScan, since you can use macros to group all possible conditions into one parameter.

But how do I configure and use Macros?
Well, you have several samples in the pre-made templates, but I think it is worth explaining how they would work. NOTE that you need to have a QScan Max license to be able to edit and save macros, or import/export macros.

I am attaching a pdf document that will allow you to understand a bit more about how macros should be configured and how they work.

Enjoy!!!
