Hi, so I recently just started using Lightwork for video editing and I already encounter a problem. Whenever I trying to import a video, the video gets speed up and my voice turns squeaky. This effect remain even in my export. Does anyone know how to I can adjust the speed of video when importing?

Hello,

You can adjust speed with the clip in the timeline from 'Segment Commands' , but I'm not sure if this is a good method to fix the problem you show. The question is, where is it from?

To show the technical details of your original video, could you post a Mediainfo report please?

The attached is the MediaInfo file for my exported video.

I tried to import video using other video editor and there is no such problem. This problem seem to only occur specifically in Lightwork.

Thank you.

Mediainfo of the exported file isn't suitable to find possible problems with your source material. Could you post the same for the original video, the source imported into Lightworks, please?

Yes it does.

Frame rate : 15.018 FPS

Your recording has a non standard frame rate. With exactly 15 fps, you would be able to reduce the speed in Lightworks to 50% for realtime playback, but with the actual value of 15.018 it might show drifting sound, sync issues.

To move to the safe side. I'd suggest converting it with Handbrake to 30 fps prior to import. Here you'll find a suitable procedure:

Do you mind provide me with detailed instructions on how to convert the fps? I am very confused about the setting to use.

Assuming that you have read the post I linked to above and installed most recent Handbrake successfully, start Handbrake.

1. Drag and drop your video into Handbrake.
2. Under 'Presets' right hand side select 'Production >> Production Standard'.
3. Switch to the tab 'Video'.
4. From the drop down menu 'Framerate (FPS)' select '30'.
5. Click the 'Browse' button down right and specify destination path and name.
6. Click 'Start Encode' and wait for the conversion to finish.
7. Import the converted file into Lightworks.

Hope that helps.
