Hello im quite new to lightworks, ive been working on a project for quite a while, tho its not that long in duration suddenly new clips i import into the timeline start lagging/stuttering (freeze frame for like 0.5 sec and then completely skip that 0.5 sec)
always at the start of the clip and then for some lenghtier clips it happens throughout as well.
i think my laptop cant be the cause because its pretty high end.
ive been working hard on this project and editing like this is a burden.
i dont know if exporting will also capture this lag?

im using 720p clips in 60fps

my laptop : acer predator helios 300 ph315-51
specs : intel core I7-8750h CPU 2,2 2,21 GHZ
RAM 16GB
NVIDEA GTX 1060 6GB
64 bit
windows 10

Hello,

'High End' is relative. It depends on where the average suitable for video editing is supposed to be, and of course on the video format used, on the complexity of the timeline and effects.

Please restart your computer and see if the problem persists.

If it does, please post a Mediainfo report of your footage.

The technical data show what I would expect to see from a file exported with Youtube presets with Lightworks V14.5. Are you editing in a second pass with footage created in Lightworks?

Have you tried creating prints from these clips, rather than exporting and reimporting them?

I see. I guess, you are aware that this degrades quality to some extend. There might be better approaches to split your material prior to populating the timeline and editing, depending on your source material.

Back to the issue, exported files in Youtube format 720p59.94 @ 9Mbps should be fluently editable on your computer, unless you have a complex effect setup with more than one video track, do you?

Your avatar doesn't show it, but do you run V14.6 beta?

Edit: Just detected that I copied an entirely wrong quote. Sorry for that briandrys. That's corrected now.

14.5 I suspect.

We can now throw an immediate solution on your problem, or try to find the cause for suddenly laggy editing. The latter will cost more of your time and some effort from your side.

Which one do you prefer?
