You can set up the keyboard arrows, so that they jog left or Right using the keyboard assignments found in the system settings on top right of the projects browser page.

For my taste, the Jog commands on the keyboard don't work well due to the keyboard delay prior to starting key-repeat. And, customizing the keyboard delay to zero from OS settings, makes it unusable for almost any other application. On the Shuttle Jog commands don't work well due to other reasons.

Jog commands may work well on a Lightworks Console, but I can't say.
It's better to travel well than to arrive...

The Shuttle Pro uses the same keyboard commands.

It's another option.

Jog on the keyboard ramps speed up to the key repeat rate over a short time interval.

I can't work with that, neither on the Shuttle nor on the keyboard. The Jog commands are on top of my list of the useless commands and I'm not willing to invest in a Console just to find out whether it does a better job.

Opinions vary. I find the +/- 2 or 3 frame slop factor on jog with the shuttle pro quite acceptable and comparable to most analog tape systems I ever worked on. Single frame nudge can be used to dial in the precise trim point if needed.
Fast shuttle search is a whole different subject. The shuttle ring on my setup does 1/4,1/2,2x,4x,6x,8x and 10x speeds with audio scrub up to 4x. I skip normal play speed on the shuttle ring.
Using only Cineform i-frame DI masters it all plays smoothly frame for frame. I would not expect that kind of accuracy with any long GOP compressed codec.

Ahh - scrubbing is generally used to describe audio.

Since you are on the timeline with hand on mouse - perhaps this would be best for final frame accurate selection?

I use the mouse quite a bit for import, logging, subclips, and bin organization.
Once I’m trimming an auto assembled rough edit sequence it is mostly shuttlepro and keyboard. I use the function shift and play keys on the shuttle for the one or two frame correction nudges.
No need to switch to the mouse.
Probably could do it all on the shuttle if I got more fluent with the button modifier functions. It is all trimming cuts and simple dissolves on the first trim pass.
