For the applications you mention to leave Lightworks in the dust, they would have to first be better editors than Lightworks. Wake me up from hibernation when that happens.

Me too..

Honestly, some feedback about your first impression working with Hitfilm Express or Davinci Resolve truly appreciated.

it is bad, this is on my YT. I want good quality footage, and I should be entitled to that. I'm not one of these "know your rights" guys but I do think that this is unfair. That's why I'm joining in in this conversation to "campaign" to bring it back.

This is 720p from a 1080p original.
There is a lot of bad video on YouTube, but high quality originals produce high quality results at any resolution.

I understand this, but I'm a linear guy. I've already got videos on my channel which are 1080p. I've got a 1080p display so for me, it could look better. I'd prefer 1080p50, and I'm in agreement with StoneyRun. I guess i'd better start looking for other editors, because I'm clearly not getting anywhere here...

Editshare Qscan - Why do you promote this so intensively?

I'm not that dumb, I know what my video quality is..... I might use the coupon tbh and take out the pro license for month. I tend to make videos when i can, my gaming videos are 7020p, so no extra codecs needed there. It's only when i go out and record with my camera, which is quite staggered. Usually, I might not be able to get out for like 3 months, it all depends on school etc. (meaning I don't have to waste money in those months). Pretty much, I'll take it out when I need it.

Checkout Blackmagic Davinci Resolve. It supports 1080p with the free version.

Come back if you don't like, but even more important, if you like it, come back and tell us why and what you like most.

Hello again,

Thank you for the feedback.

Next one in the row of premium editing software for free would be Hitfilm Express. It's more focused on creating effects than on editing, but as far as I know it supports 1080p export as well and comes with powerful visual effects.

Then Avid Media Composer which is industry standard NLE for large facilities together with Avid ProTools for audio processing. Not long ago they've started providing free versions for both programs.

The last of my suggestions for now is Shotcut which is freeware anyway.

I totally understand Lightworks position. However I am unemployed & like to do videos of my paragliding. I have just looked at a youtube output from my project & it is rank. Really not worth posting - how far we have come. It's ok to say it's only £25 for a month but that's a lot to me right now.
Attached Lightworks free output & original for comparison.
How about a slight Lightworks watermark on higher res? Gives advertising etc

If you can't live with 720p and have no budget to buy a license, check out other free editing software which supports 1080p on export. There are some (see above).

Yeah thx. Davinci Resolve crashes, I just like Lightworks but I guess that's why they can't give too much for free. It's a quality product. I should get a job lol (I wish, too old)

I think that this thread has gone as it can usefully go and I'm shutting it down. The position as already stated in this thread is that Editshare are using commercially licensed software to encode, and must pay a fee for that use. It is quite unreasonable to expect them to pay that fee then provide that software to users free of charge.

This thread is now locked.
