Yes, you would be good for all 14.x upgrades.

That's not really what I'm asking. I understand if I purchase the Outright license under the 14 series I'd get all updates for the 14.X series. But how do I jump to the 15 series with an Outright license (to get all updates for the 15.X series)? I understood from your earlier remark that I'd need to pay an upgrade fee equal to the yearly license amount. Correct?

I gather the upgrade price is currently about the same as the annual subscription, upgrading non subscription software to a later version usually costs less than the original cost price, This applies to a Windows OS when you upgrade it to a later version, Vegas Pro and other software.

You have to purchase the upgrade to use V15 or whatever is the version you're upgrading to.

Repeating your questions won't get you better answers. The users here can only speculate on what is likely to happen in the future, and they aren't in any position to give you definite answers on planned upgrade costs to a version that is yet to be designed. In any case, the current upgrade cost may or may not reflect future purchase deals.

What is obvious is that the outright license price is considerably less than the cost of the two individual Boris packages. So as I see it, the question that you should be asking yourself is whether you need those packages enough to buy the outright licence and wear any potential future upgrade costs. Remember, you can actually run a subscription license in parallel with an outright purchase, so if future upgrade costs aren't to your liking you can always follow that path.

And to be clear: like all the others here I am a user, just like you. I am in no way associated with Editshare and am not privy to any future marketing plans that they may have.

Quite right. This concludes the matter. Thanks for your input.

... currently I don't see an upgrade price.

The current upgrade price was mentioned in another thread. I don't know how the web site is set up, but I would assume that you would need to already have an outright license before you would receive details of the upgrade. You may have to contact Lightworks directly for the upgrade, rather than go through the shop.

If I would be the one calculating the upgrade fees I would respect end of life of the version the outright license applies to, together with estimated date for the next major release, otherwise my customers with an annual license wouldn't be happy.

Any Boris upgrades would need to be purchased from Boris I expect.

There are no Boris upgrades/updates for the versions of Graffity and FX currently delivered with Lightworks, as far as I'm aware of.

I believe that Boris don't even sell those versions (stand alone) anymore.
