Hello,

I created a recent topic under the Miscellaneous category of the forum titled One-on-One Assistance where forum RWAV was assisting with a sync issue. Now the topic has disappeared.

In addition to posting here, I emailed This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it for any assistance as to if the topic has been deleted or hidden and why.

I invested a lot of hours and research with the topic and would like to see it reposted.

If my "posting etiquette" is inappropriate, that would be helpful to know for my knowledge and use of the forum. Maybe my lengthy activity and/or the many edits I made to my posts (to be as exact and accurate as possible with detail in communicating information) caused the topic to be flagged?

See attachments.

Thanks for any help.

I notice that the thread has not only been deleted, but also pinned and locked. Given the time difference there may be a delay before you get a response from the web team. Because of that and because I can't see anything in it that should cause offence, I've re-instated it.

If there is a reason that it should be deleted I would have expected that you would be notified of the action and the reason for that action with a personal message. I suspect that there may have been some form of data corruption in the forum database. That combination of pin/lock/delete is weird, to say the least.

[EDIT] Please notify the web team that the problem is now resolved.

Hi jwrl,

I see the reinstatement of my One-on-One Assistance topic.

Page three of the topic, the most recent activity where a lot of my progress had taken place, is still missing. Is there any way to recover it?

Thanks for your efforts.

Done. For some reason the posts on that page were separately deleted.

Thanks jwrl. I notified This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it that you reinstated the topic. I don't believe there is a forth page, but if you do a quick inquiry and find anything, do let me know.

Thanks for your assistance. Much appreciated.

Hi all,

Database corruption is one possibility another is a simple human error. Will investigate.

It turned out to be a human error. The moderator was notified.

I keep getting copied on these thread messages. While I do want India2014 to get help with his or her error, I don't need to follow along with it. I would unsubscribe from the thread except that...well, it's my thread and I'd still like to hear the conclusion to my own problem.

Is it possible for a mod to move India2014's to its own thread?

And India2014, please do not hijack people's threads in the future It makes things difficult to manage in the long run.

Cheers.

That expression means that someone accidentally did something that they didn't intend. In this case your thread was accidentally deleted. That was the error.

jwrl,

What constitutes hijacking a thread when the forum instructs users to find an existing and relative thread to post issues instead of creating duplicate topics? If a user such as notklaatu creates a private thread, why is there not a lock option to keep general members out?

In this case the issue in that thread related to a whole group of threads vanishing because they were posted in the beta forums. The problem, cause and solution were all different to your issue. I thought that it would do both of you a favour if they were split up.

Ah, okay. I'll try to be more careful that I post in the most relative topics.

Thanks
