I went thru the process of removing the console drivers as was in the version notes for 12.0.2, but I'm still getting kendal panics when the console is attached.

If I upgrade to 10.10 (yosemite) will the problem resolve itself or will I still have the problem if the console drivers haven't been fully removed via terminal commands?

Thanks.

Hi gumbaedit0227,

Have you followed the instructions below:

Instructions for removing the FTDI driver
  • Open a Terminal (Applications->Utilities->Terminal)
  • Type: cd /System/Library/Extensions and press Enter
  • Type: sudo rm -r FTDIUSBSerialDriver.kext and press Enter followed by your password

If you have, please can you make sure that the FTDIUSBSerialDriver.kext file is not present in the folder mentioned above by browsing to it in Finder? The fact you are still experiencing kernel panics suggests the FTDI driver is still present.

I would also recommend downloading the latest Beta 12.0.3.e as this latest version includes fixes for the console connectivity issues. It will not affect the kernel panics.

Thanks. I have. When I run it I get "no such file or directory". It doesn't show up in a search at all. So it is gone, but still having the panics. I'll try the new beta, but I'm not optimistic.
