The first file doesn't look right. There's no codec information. It should work with the second file.

After running the ffmpeg command like this...

ffmpeg -i M2U02778.MPG -vcodec copy -vtag MPG2 -an M2U02778.AVI
and
ffmpeg -i M2U02778.MPG -vn -acodec pcm_s16le M2U02778.wav

...LW should be able to import those files if you've set up ffdshow correctly and added the items into the registry.

I originally did this on version 10.0.1 so I need to make sure it's still working in 10.0.3

Thanks for your reply.

The files are converted but only the wav file function and not the avi file. Please take a look for my screen showing.

Did you add the VDIC.MPG2 line in the registry and enabled MPG2 in AVI in the VFW configuration in ffdshow? Does that avi file open in VirtualDub?

I just tried this in Lightworks 10.0.3 and it didn't work. I got black frames when using "Create Link" and an error when transcoding on import. Sorry, this work-around no longer seems to work. Transcode before importing into Lightworks into a compatible codec.
