Yes, the "Hints and Tips" PDF is quite helpful for starters. For those who may be starting out, there are a few things to keep in mind when using the PDF because it was created for the original v10 Beta. Also, I don't think all of the changes have been detailed anywhere, so this is as good a place as any.

  1. The "Detect Image Sequences" option has moved from right-clicking on the Import tool to the Cogs menu of an open Import panel.
  2. Still images no longer import as a single frame, so that whole section is semi-irrelevant. I'm not sure what the new default is, but you can change the default import length by clicking the Cogs menu icon on the Import panel and then changing the value of "Stills Duration" to the desired length.
  3. The right+left mouse button click described in Steps 1 of the "Moving Video & Audio Tracks together" has changed to shift+left-click.
  4. No changes to "Make copies on the fly" but rather a note. Holding shift and then dragging will make a duplicate of the clip/group and then be in Insert mode. So when the mouse button is let go, the clip/group will be inserted pushing all the clips from that point forward. Alternatively, holding down control will duplicate the content (same as shift) and then be in Replace mode. This is the opposite effect.
  5. The Preferences icon has changed from a fingerprint to a man with a gear behind him.
  6. Leaving "Automatic positioning" enabled for the "Make an edit from bin contents" section allows for a little easier arrangement of tiles. The rest of the functionality still works the same.

Lightworks v11 has changed the way stills are imported. The default length of imported stills is no longer 1 frame but 60 seconds. This can also be changed in the import tool cogs menu > Stills duration (seconds).

You're welcome and no problem. Feel free to change or add anything that I missed. Is there any chance in updating the PDF itself? If you don't have the time but you do have the original files I'd be willing to work on it. Let me know.

"Make copies on the fly" isn't [wasn't] working for me.

For me it was CTRL rather than SHFT = success!

"Holding shift and then dragging will make a duplicate of the clip/group and then be in Insert mode. So when the mouse button is let go, the clip/group will be inserted pushing all the clips from that point forward."

Thanks all.

You're right, in the beta (v10) it was shift, but they changed to CTRL in version 11. we inadvertently overlooked this detail when we made the new pdf.
