Functions can be assigned to keys by clicking on the thumbprint icon and choosing 'change/view key assignments'. You can use 'plain' keys (such as 'i', 'o', etc) or modified keys (such as 'CTRL + I' or 'ALT + O', etc).

Lightworks also supports the idea that any key can be a modifier key. This means for example that you can hold down 'A' and then tap 'B' (as though 'A' were a shift key). This can make choosing memorable key combinations a little easier - I use 'hold F, tap S' as a shortcut for Full Screen, for example.

I've already configured quite some keys nicely. What I love about my current setup is that I have
CTRL+1/2/3/etc mapped to activating/deactivating the video channels, and ALTGR+1/2/3/etc for the audio channels. Makes switching the channels on and off very quick.

What I do wonder though is why are there so few keys pre-assigned? Will there be a default keyboard mapping for Lightworks in the future that's got more keys already assigned in an intelligent way? It would make it easier to start editing on another LW system since you wouldn't have to carry your own keyboard-preset-file around.
