Hey I have been trying to export a video that I made, and it keeps saying that the format for every thing free is "unsupported". How do I fix this without paying, it's just too far outside my price range.

As a free user you are limited to a maximum resolution of 720p using mp4 codecs. You will find full details in the version comparison, including a price for the monthly license which may meet your needs.

Welcome to the forum.

Are you trying to export using a codec that isn't available on the free version? The options on this version are restricted to 720P mpeg4 that you can export to your hard drive or up load to YouTube etc.

I didn't change anything I just put it onto YouTube and hit export and it said that it was supported

Try exporting it to your hard drive and uploading from there. YouTube sometimes acts up with the direct upload.

Format unsupported on export indicates most likely that OP's export panel is locked at 1080 Pro.
It's better to travel well than to arrive...

Unfortunatley, there isn't any known straight forward fix for this. Some trial and error, like clicking around, trying to change the frame rate on the export panel, creating a new project and importing different media and such may help, or may not.

I'd suggest installing the most recent 2020.1 beta version. If it fixes the issue out of the box, perfect, if it doesn't, moderators could move your post into beta forums where developers can easily spot it.

If this the case, you should see 1080p as the only export resolution, when it should be restricted to the free version's 720p max. Reinstalling Lightworks (which you may have done, given the beta icon in your avatar) may solve it.
