Hi
Does anyone know of a tutorial that covers Quad Split screen please? I have played around with it but can't get it to work and would love to see someone demo it. I have found "Split screen" ones which don't seem to help but not the Quad one.

It's basically the same as shown in this video, but you change the scaing so that they're 1/4 size, rather than cropped and then position them as required.

However, just make life even easier. if you look in the DVE section in the VFX tab, you will find quad screen listed as one of the split screen presets.

Hi, thanks for that - it was the preset that I wanted the tutorial on as I don't want to have to add 4 separate 2D DVEs. I watched this tutorial and can see how I would use the info to change the values but I don't seem to be able to link the effects to the right image/ tracks. Hence I wanted to see a tutorial.

There is no tutorial on the quad split screen.

However, this tutorial on video routing should assist you in placing the tracks in the right box.

Perhaps it's one of the presets one has courtesy of many previous versions of LW??

Don't know if this short demo helps. I made it some time ago to show how to apply dissolves to Quad Split DVE, but it shows also how to add Quad Split DVE to 4 video tracks and background, basically.

It's better to travel well than to arrive...

I found another one.

The video doesn't show the build-in Quad Split preset, but jwrl's Triple DVE. This effect combines the function of three DVEs to scale the frame, the image within the frame and the composite and, it adds adjustable borders to the frame, very nice. The video shows a setup with 5 video tracks, keyframes on master scale of the composite (DVE3), drop shadows, no borders. I used the setup as part of the intro of a slide show.
