Welcome to the forum.

On your computer, when you export the menu says Destination. so you can select where you wish to put it om your computer. You can also put in a name for the video export, rather than the automatic on that Lightworks creates.

In general it's good practice to disable "Upload to youtube.com" from export panel and to export to a local folder in order to view the video prior to uploading with a media player as final check and upload afterward from your youtube account using Youtube Studio.

However, if you wish uploading directly from Lightworks to Youtube, install most recent Lightworks V14.5 beta. It fixes the known issue with direct Youtube upload you've encountered. You'll find it under Downloads on top of this page.

I am also getting the message "Authentication failed for unknown reason error" when I try to export my selected part of the video.... Please help, I can't figure it out. If possible a step by step process info would be great

OK, so how do you disable "Upload to youtube.com" from export panel?

You just deselect the upload option in Youtube section of the export panel.

Press F2-key (or use context menu) to open export panel for current sequence and click on "Upload to youtube.com" to toggle disable/enable.

With "Upload to youtube.com" disabled, set "Destination.Folder" to a local folder of your choice (and "Format" to your needs) and export to file system.

So I'm trying this in V2020.1 and I no longer have the option to disable the upload.

Since Lightworks 14.5 there the "H.264/MP4 (Free)" export option:

In 14.5 both local export options did exactly the same.
In in 14.5 the option in the YouTube export was only a remnant from 14.0 and older versions in which "H.264 / MP4 (Free)" did not yet exist.

The Pro license (which I don't have) has even more mp4 export options.

Thank you, I found the mp4 menu after a while. I'm not sure how I missed that
I was too focussed on the youtube export I think...
