Hi there, I'm using Lightworks free edition since one year to edit my youtube videos. I'm self learning it, but right now I can't figure out how to achieve a particular effect (I'm using V14)
Here we go with the explanation:
I'm creating a "Fast Forward" VFX combination to add to clip sections that I have to accelerate, in order to make it clear it is accelerated and have a fancy effect to show to the viewer.
Since now I've obtained a good combo by mixing B/W colour correction with VHS2, all I need to make it perfect is to have a FFW symbol (it's a >> Shaped PNG overlayed to the video) that blinks every couple of seconds.
I managed to do everything but the blinking part... can't even figure out how to start achieveing it and every suggestion is wellcome here.
Keep in mind that I'm going to use this combo as a preset to apply on different clips of different lenghts, so it has to be "parametric" and not "manual" (Putting the same overlay every 2.5 seconds is not a viable solution for me)

Thank you in advance for your time and for any suggestion.

EDIT:
Solved, solution is in the next 4-5 posts.

Maybe the "strobe" effect of @khaver is what you are looking for?
Download in the MOTION category below.
Here is a video of how it can be realized:

Note: The flash speed is also dependent on the length of the timeline segment.

Here we are:
To obtain the VHS distortion plus the blinking >> symbol I used that combination of VFX with this routing:

And with those settings:

NOTE: Blinking speed of the >> symbol is given by the "Strobe Spacing" parameter under the Strobe effect. It makes the layer it is applied to appear and disappear each x% seconds of the clip lenght, so you'll have to manually adjust it every time.

NOTE II: For the >> Symbol I used a hand drawn PNG but you can use whatever you prefer, even a text containing the ">>" if you wish.

Nice that it works.

Another note: If possible, use the export option "Whole sequence".
In the export option "Marked section", it is possible that the blinking speed differs from the sequence viewer (especially if Mark or Park is placed within these segments).

Uh, thanx for the headup! Btw I'm using "Ignore Leading/Trailing Black" so I should not have problems.
