Just downloaded the latest version and it crashes on trying to load the first file.
I get a windows error dialogue box saying Lightworks has crashed, referring to find a solution.
2nd time it ran ok, was it just slow??

How well is the media currently playing in Lightworks? Is the crash a one off?

Just the one crash on installation.

Now works OK, but extremely limited output.
I have to move output control over working file which is unusual, there is no left click menu to output results.
Also very limiting to only be able to save on huge Youtube 720p file format (5GB).

Just to get an idea what you're talking about: What kind of video editing software have you been using before Lightworks?
It's better to travel well than to arrive...

It sounds like there are several things that need to be addressed here.

One thing that sets alarm bells ringing for me is that you find it "very limiting to only be able to save on huge Youtube 720p file format (5GB)". I suspect that you have created an edit with a lot of empty timeline after your last shot and you're exporting the whole thing. You should either mark just the section that you want to export and then export just that, or better still, you should mark the blank section at the end of your timeline and delete that prior to exporting.

The best thing is not to create an edit at all from the tools menu when you start. If you open your first source file and perform any edit operation on it at all you will automatically start an edit. You won't do anything to your original media, and you will be able to continue editing on the edit you've just started.

I strongly suggest that you check out a few of the basic tutorials which you will find under the tutorials tab at the head of this page. It will make life a lot easier for you.
