Anyone is using Windows8 with a MK2 Console?
I just bought a new Laptop with this stupid OS and my old VIP console do not like to run...
Its initialized but not one button is working.

Any ideas? Thanks from the Philippines.

That would be a serial not USB console? If so that would possibly be the problem.

Does/did your previous computer have an onboard serial port - perhaps this one only has a serial port via an adapter of some form?

but it works fine on W7...

.... on a different computer?

Issues surrounding serial consoles are well known and unfortunately up to the user (with help where possible from the forum) to resolve. LW has previously posted that, while they continue to enable use of the serial console, they do not have a serial console and cannot troubleshoot issues. Is that reasonable given the serial console interface was abandoned something like seven years ago?

The only definitive way to determine if it is a W8 and not hardware problem you're having is to change operating systems on one of your computers - W8 on your old one to see if that breaks console support - or W7 on the new one to see if that fixes it.
