Export an archive of a project, delete one or more of the clips you use in edits, ignore the related messages, and you have a corrupted project.

Retsore the original from archive when you're done.

Did you try to set a hardlink to the Lightworks directory?

Salute Khaver, a fat code base!

AutoIt 3.3.14.2 installs flawlessly into Linux Mint 17.1.

Thanks. No, not yet. I'll try to do that later.

gr00by,

are you really going to port AutoIt speak to Perl language?

My advise, think about it twice.

No, I'm not. I can't to port khaver's tool directly. I'm thinking about reimplementation based on his work. I'm choosing Python to support multiplatfom, but I'd like to focus mostly on Linux.

Currently is too early to speak about details. Maybe the symlink solution will be enough for everyone. And I can't say how long these problems will be leaved unsolved directly in Lightworks (there is V14 coming, right?).

Yes, V14 comes and maybe some fixes for the problems causing corrupt projects, who knows?

I'm looking for a cross platform batch processor to replace EFC on the long run. How about that?

I've started similar project months ago. It is currently CLI-only and wraps FFMPEG. It can transcode whole directories (Linux, OSX, Windows not tested) and apply timecode corrections. But this topic requires more discussion. I will follow the thread you've mentioned above. After months I've realized that I'd like to create archive/footages management tool instead of a transcoder. The last one can be an independent tool. And, to be honest, I don't want to invest my time in something, which will be called unprofessional just because it uses an opensource library.

This program came out of the problem where Lightworks wouldn't allow relinking clips, when for some reason, the original cookie link file was not reachable (deleted, media location moved, drive detached, etc), so the relink function would remain greyed out. My program searches all possible locations these link files could be found and if it does find them, it moves them to a currently defined media location. If they are not found, this requires that new cookie link files be created, so the program parses the .ed5 files in the project folder to find the original clip locations and creates the new cookie files. While working on this, one of the Devs who was helping me, mentioned that Lightworks should have the ability to do this itself. I took this to mean that maybe at some point this will be added. Hopefully v14. You may want to hold off working on this until after the v14 beta is released. We don't know yet what they have fixed or added.

Thanks. I think I'll wait for V14 beta.

This is the command to create a hardlink of the Lightworks folder at the expected place for Windows:

ln -s ~/Lightworks ~/.wine/drive_c/users/Public/Documents

.. complete directory structure shows up but unfortunately LWKProjFix.exe doesn't work, same error message as above.

Maybe I did something wrong or code changes are necessary.

Looking into some Lightworks .ED5 files it seems to me that they contain DOS paths to the media which is strange in Linux, internal path mapping maybe?

Anyway, I won't go deeper into this for the moment.

Updated Lightworks Project Fixer v07 can be downloaded from the first post of this thread.

Changes since v06:
-A few bug fixes.
-Compatible with projects created in Lightworks v14.
-No longer lists projects with no imported media (0 shots).
-Slight speed increase.

Tried starting the fixer software in windows 7 pro and error "line 2428 Variable used without being declared" appears. Clicking OK on message box closes program.

Moderated - You have started a thread on the media being off line here:

Although not a pure double post in this case it can cause confusion. Briandrys

Can confirm that same error as BGinger occurs on Windows 10.

First post contains a fixed executable. No version number change. Let me know if it still gives you problems.
