Hello,

is it possible to set up a custom Resolution for the Project?
I would like to edit it in 2048x1080 resolution in Order to export it to openDCP.

I'm also wondering why this is not one of the standard 2k resolutions?
According to the DCI Specification, this should be the native 2k resolution.

I don,t think so. But I don't understand why you shoold.
I think Lightworks can edit with linked material without changing it depending off the container, codec and resolution. You can use different resolutions in the same project.
The resolution settings of the project change only the output to the monitor.
When you export your edit you can choose the resolution for the export but in my opinion has this nothing to do with the project resolutions.

If you have a 24p project you will get the option for 2k resolutions. 30p and 60i are not standard DCP frame rates.

Does it mean that you can play out to what? Tape, File recorder. Can a normal computer handel it or does the Red Rocket do the job?
I did not know.

You would normally export to a TIFF image sequence and WAV audio files. These can be used by openDCP.

I haven't checked yet, but I'm hoping Lightworks exports 16bit TIFF files. I don't like the idea of using a 10bit project in Lightworks then exporting to 8bit for DCP projects.

Hi,

i have been using 24 Frames/s, but I thought that it would be necessary to create a full 2k frame. And according to DCI, the 2k Full Frame would be 2048x1080. But I have been to the cinema today, and they are using scope, that means 2048x858. This Resolution is supported by Lightworks, and everything's fine. Thanks! Exporting tiff and wave works well with OpenDCP.

New user Doofer raised this five year old thread to air issues with the current beta version Lightworks, version 14.1. I have split that off into a new thread of its own and locked this one.

You will find the new thread at LW 14.1 Custom Resolutions.
