I’m an experienced editor and primarily work between Premiere and Resolve. I’ve been giving lightworks a go and I’m really enjoying it. However the past couple timelines I’ve exported have rendered sequences that are about 10 frames out of sync with the audio. The footage is 29.97, the project is the same and I’m exporting it as 1080p 29.97. What is going on?

(Edit: I've now included MediaInfo of one of the source files. They were all trans-coded the same way using Adobe Media Encoder)

Welcome to the forum.

Please could you follow the directions in this sticky, so that users can see the technical details of your source video (not the export): www.lwks.com/index.php?option=com_kunena&func=view&catid=23&id=66072&Itemid=81

Edit, link corrected,

Thanks for the help. I've attached the MediaInfo data to my above post and included it here. All media was trans-coded with the same settings using Adobe Media Encoder.

Hello,

I'm not familiar with Media Encoder, but I wonder why the time code tracks show 30 fps, whereas the video seems to be 29.97. I don't know if this has anything to do with your observations, though. ***

Which overall duration does the deviation of 10 frames refer to?

Edit ***: Nevermind, thinking it over, that just means that non-drop T/C applies, which is pretty much standard.

I’m not sure what you mean. However if it helps, with the exported timeline, the audio ends up 10 frames ahead

What you describe is by no means a common issue, in particular not with the media format you show. It isn't explainable based on the information provided so far.

I mean the duration of the exported file which shows the deviation of 10 frames at the end.

How do you detect that "the audio ends up 10 frames ahead", does the sound drift out of sync or is it truncated?

It’s as if the whole audio track has been shifted. What I ended up doing was bringing the exported file into Resolve and unlinking the audio and video. Then nudged the audio track until they matched up. It doesn’t seem to drift as if the audio and video are recorded wrong. It’s throughout the entire track.

Sorry, but that doesn't make any sense to me.

The only explanation for this is that you have shifted the track(s) somehow manually, but that would be definitely detectable in preview.

If you could share such a sequence including all media, I will surely have a look into it. I will download whatever you can afford uploading.

Edit: Just to be clear, I mean a sequence exported as Lightworks archive including all media, not the exported sequence!
