2k is a cinema format, not a video one. It's for the 1.85:1 digital aspect ratio used in theatrical films. The nearest video is 1080p 16:9.

You can crop your 16:9 video to 1.85:1 when using h.264/mp4 or mov, as with 2.39:1 letterbox.

2k is available as an option when exporting image sequences.

I suspect G0bble still runs V14.5.

The question is what does "2k" mean?

What I see in the beta under h.264/MP4 are 'RED ONE 2k 2:1' and 'Full frame 2k'. The latter appears to be anamorphic 4:3. I see no representation for the dimensions 2k DCI 1.85:1 and 2.39:1. However, maybe G0bble means some other 2k format.

By the way, I've just set the output format to '2k full frame', exported in 'Full frame 2k' and re-imported the result. I see an unexpected frame. It appears as if the anamorphic format (3840x2160, 4:3) isn't detected properly when importing?

Also, on playback start/stop in the source viewer, I see unexpected horizontal vertical resizing with the re-imported file.

Sorry for the confusion.
I record Gopro in 2.7k which is 2704x1524 res. After stabilizing some pixels/corners are lost/cropped and I intend to export in 2560x1440p.
I do see QHD as an option - I think many internet articles are confusing QHD with UHD etc.. I exported and re-checked QHD is what I want - 2560x1440

Thanks for your time and sorry for the bother...

That means that you run V14.5, most likely, because with V14.6 beta QHD appears to be missing.

The current Lightworks version is 14.5.
Please look at the bottom of your Lightworks start screen:

14.6 are beta versions, which have new functions, but for which bugs have to be expected, which are reported in the beta forum.
I see a beta sign in your profile picture. This suggests that you have already tested a beta (maybe an older beta?). Maybe you returned to stable version 14.5 because of problems?

First you should find out if you are using Lightworks 14.5 or a beta. If you are using a beta then you should consider which beta you are using.

V14.5 has all you need. Custom resolutions are not available with V14.6.

I have always been on 14.5. I never even tested 14.6 - Because I am still struggling with the basics of video editing and have a 5yr backlog of vacation videos to edit, I dont want to deal with bugs or unpredictable behavior.

The confusion was a result of inaccurate google result pages about QHD vs QFHD vs UHD etc.

Thanks for chipping in folks. I see that Fishmonger has fixed the absence of 2K in 14.6 ...

Cheers
