I have edited a sequence and am having sync issues when I export. Is this because my source media has a sample rate of 41kHz? Thank you for your help!

No, should be no problem using 41Khz audio.

Seems the video is in Variable Frame Rate mode - from your post

Frame rate mode : Variable
Frame rate : 30.000 FPS
Minimum frame rate : 28.571 FPS
Maximum frame rate : 31.579 FPS

Assuming you are running the current release version 14.5, please confirm that LW VFR Correction is enabled.

Could you describe your edit and the kind of sync issue in more detail, please?

Hi Hugly, thanks for the help.

I have a simple timeline with source media from an iPhone 8. Everything appears to be in sync in playback, but when I export, some of the clips seem to be slightly out of sync.

I have gone through and used the aline feature to ensure they have matching starting points.

There is no sync error on my timeline.

I am stumped.

Thanks again

Hi,

The problem is, under certain conditions, there's audio delay in preview. If this happens and you align picture to sound by listening in preview, the exported file is out of sync. The best indicator for this is that in the exported file the sound is ahead of the picture (picture follows sound).

Is that what you see and hear in exported file?

it does appear that the audio is ahead of the video.

I have my playback media quality set to highest quality.

I assume you mean in exported file. Try to 'Slip-trim' the audio of the affected segments to compensate for the effect. In other words, if there's audio delay on your system in preview, you have to hear the delay in preview to get proper export.

To find out the typical preview delay on your system this might help: www.lwks.com/index.php?option=com_kunena&func=view&catid=8&id=130612&Itemid=81#130612

That is not necessarily correct. A delay where the sound is ahead of the picture is often caused by the latency in the picture - for example all video screens have some latency. LW has a tool to overcome that - it works only on screen viewers and is not passed onto exports. Undo whatever sound adjustment was made to put it in sync in LW viewers.

Search under "audio video sync checker" for a choice of downloadable checkers, use khaver's tool or evaluate by trail and error - typically one would expect a three to five 'field' adjustment to be the fix.

Hope that compensates in the right direction.
