I have personally not converted it, so I'm not sure. How can I see if it is?

You can't. Mediainfo shows 'Writing application : Lavf58.2.103' which is used by many programs based on free ffmpeg libraries. VLC is just one of them. VLC is a good media player, but know to create not always well editable formats when used as converter and stream recorder.

Based on schrauber's and your finding this audio format might be the cause:

Audio
ID : 2
Format : AAC
Format/Info : Advanced Audio Codec
Format profile : HE-AAC / LC
Codec ID : 40
Duration : 1h 58mn
Bit rate mode : Constant
Bit rate : 96.0 Kbps
Channel(s) : 2 channels
Channel positions : Front: L R
Sampling rate : 48.0 KHz / 24.0 KHz
Compression mode : Lossy
Stream size : 80.3 MiB (3%)

This should be fixable by remuxing the video with re-encoded audio. It's faster than re-encoding video and audio and preserves original video quality. With ffmpeg, you could use a command line like this:

ffmpeg -i "<input>" -c:v copy -c:a pcm_s16le -ar 48000 -y "<output>".mov

After replacing <input> and <output> with file names, that should work with your file.

Thank you very much! It does make the original file larger (although that doesn't really matter in this case). But I did this and now it works, thank you very much for the help, hugly and schrauber!
