Hello all.

After creating my video, and it appearing great in Lightworks, I exported to youtube. However, when I view the video after it has saved, the whole video is purple/pink and essentially unwatchable. I have applied colour correction to the video but It didn't seem to work. Have also imported the edited video back into lightworks and it still appears pink.

No idea if this makes sense, but looking at the waveform graph as I play the video I only see white and Red. Does this mean something?

Sorry. Just started with this program so let me know of any info I can supply to assist

Media Info below (have been messing with settings trying to fix this so who knows what else Ive messed up):

Hello and welcome!

Obviously your post has been missed somehow.

I don't know the problem you describe, but maybe we can find a fix.

The Mediainfo above shows most likely a video exported with Lightworks.

It's possible that the problem is related to your original footage. Would you please post a Mediainfo report of the source file used.

Does the video play properly in a normal media player, VLC for example?

Is this effect (purple/pink) visible over the complete length of the video or only partially?

Have tried playing the exported file in multiple video players (VLC included) and the problem persists.

The effect is visible throughout. Cheers

I can't see a problem explaining the issue in technical data.

Do you see the problem (no blue line in the graph after re-import)
looking at the waveform graph as I play the video I only see white and Red
only with this single source file (exported and re-imported), and only after export, not in preview while editing?

To understand better what the issue looks like, it would be very helpful if you could provide two screenshots of the same frame comparing what you see before and after export. Please remove any kind of color correction you've possibly applied. Best would be screenshots at full resolution (F12) attached as zip-file to your reply.

And the last question in this row.

Did you download this file somewhere in the Apple world and was it named MV4 before you renamed it to MP4?

Hello again, and cheers for help. Think were in opposite timezones so my responses are a little delayed

I believe I can only see red and white on the waveform of the preview in LW as well (even though the actual video playback looks good).

And I downloaded original video from Dropbox where it is an MP4, no idea if it was a Mv4 before being uploaded there, but I haven't changed this.

Did you apply the effect before or after you noticed the problem?
Where did you insert the effect? ("Edit" / "Sequence", "Clip", or "Subclip"?)
Did you remove the effect now?
Do you use a multicam bin?

Which Lightworks version do you use?
Does the problem also arise when you create a new project, import the original file there, and you export the "Clip" unchanged?

I applied colour correction after the issue began in an attempt to fix it, I have removed and re-done multiple times but the problem persists. I inserted the effect in Edit.

I'm sorry, I don't know what a multicam bin is.

When I put the original video into lightworks, and then export straight out, the video looks good (not pink)

Thank you for the screenshots.

cholt95,

Personally, I never experienced something like that. I remember a discussion where a user reported about similar things, but it remained with an open end.

Did I understand you right, when you export the clip directly from the player it looks correctly re-imported into Lightworks, when you put the clip into a newly created edit and export from there it looks like this?

The answer to the following quuestion is important because it could indicate a problem with DRM:

Was this file originally named .M4V and your renamed it to MP4?

No problem. The answer suggests that we can exclude this potential source of error.

cholt95 wrote:

Well, personally I would initially suspect a faulty / damaged project file, perhaps in the interplay with a bug in LW 12.6? More detailed tests might help to further narrow the error eg:

We can do more testing, but first:

Since today, this version is obsolete.
I would test how it works with LW 14 (maybe this helps at least in the error analysis?)

I thought this question would be answered as well as possible?

Sorry, I missed that answer.

As a bottom line, I never experienced that problem, that's why I have no meaningful advice to fix it directly. Trial and error is the way to go, unless somebody joins the discussion who knows exactly what's happening.

Schrauber's suggestion to try with V14 is the best you can do, If the problem still persists, transcoding prior to import may (or may not) help. Here you will find a frequently used procedure to do that with Eyeframe converter: www.lwks.com/index.php?option=com_kunena&func=view&catid=6&id=118956&limit=15&limitstart=15&Itemid=81#119003

Hello everyone,
I experienced the same problem. The solution for me was changing the video output. It is located under the project tab in version 14. you select video and change the output. For me it was (1080 25fps) after i changed it to the values as seen in the attachment the output video was no longer pink.
I hope this will help you.

Hello, I know I'm late to the issue, and it may already be solved, as I didn't read the other solutions, but I experienced this same problem and what seemed to work for me was closing the status window, as mine was open when I was experiencing the issue.

Hello,

I assume you run Lightworks V14.0 on Windows 10.

I understand that your video looks as expected in preview. After exporting with status window open, it shows a severe change of colours in a normal media player, similar to the screenshot posted above. When exporting the same with status Window closed the colours of export matches preview.

Could you try if that's reproducible in a newly created project with the test file I've attached below please?
