Ok, I'm pretty much fed up with this and will probably move on. I've spent 3 days trying to get this thing to load, and I mean at least 3 or 4 hours each day. So unless someone has a definite answer to the "Internal Error A001" when signing in, I'm done! Someone needs to fix this sign on bug! Or do what other applications do and just run, without signing in. I mean, why do we need to sign in anyway to edit videos on our machine???

I've followed everything I can find on the forums. I've:

* Completely disabled my Firewall and Defender,
* Added full permissions to "Everyone" on my directories,
* Completely Disabled User Account Control,
* Re-installed Lightworks 3 times,
* And verified that all files are in the right locations.

What else is there to do? This software is completely BROKEN!
Oh, and I'me running Windows 10 64 bit, 16 gigs RAM, so there's nothing wrong with my system. Lightworks is the only program I'm having issues with.

Welcome to the forum.

Have you followed the link to a previous thread on this error?

Since there is only one other thread with this issue, it's not common.

The registration is for licensing the codecs used in Lightworks.

Good day DRDNA,

I wonder how you've spent three days trying to solve the problem, since you've signed in yesterday. Anyway, move on or try the steps below.

1. Select "Start>>Settings>>Update & Security>>Windows Security>>Virus & threat protection"
2. Under "Virus & threat protection settings", select "Manage settings".
3. Under "Controlled folder access", select Manage "Controlled folder access".
4. Switch the "Controlled folder access" setting to "Off".
It's better to travel well than to arrive...

All sorted now, Folder permissions sorted it out.
Thanks for the advice.
