PC Windows 10, LW v14.
LW is fine on the first attempt after system startup but if i have been using it and then close it and later try to open it again it will not open.

I have found that there is still a LW process in the task manager after closing. If I End this task, LW will again start.

Anybody else having this issue?

Please could you make a zip file of the error log. In Windows it's found in C:\Users\Public\Documents\Lightworks\Logs

Then attach it to your next message.

This error.log shows a regular shut down, as far as I can see.

Sometime shut down takes a while, because Lightworks writes metadata, backups and milestones to disk, especially on low powered systems with slow hard drives. Killing that process might lead to corrupted metadata.
It's better to travel well than to arrive...

All I've done , as far as I can tell, is a regular shutdown.

Use LW
Shutdown
Try to start LW again a few minutes later and it does not.

Back-N-Black,

If the problem with the hanging process in background still persists, please install most recent V14.1 beta release from Downloads above and see if it changes anything.

To install it without affecting existing installations please specify a different destination folder when installing, something like "Lightworks V14.1 beta" instead of "Lightworks".
