TOPIC: How to save the source file??????

How to save the source file?????? 2 years ago #157088

Hi Experts!

We are new in Lightworks, "New kids on the block".
After trial test Today I bought the 1 year license.

I do not understand how to save source file, link in photoshop psd.
In trial version we can produce only mp4 file.
But we want to start a new project and we want to save the old if we have to change anything later.

I search on the net.
I found the source file type, maybe it is .lvix.

But how can we save a project for lvix???
Or just in trial we can not save source?

Many thanks, for help.

Norbert

Welcome to the forum.

Lightworks doesn't do anything to your source media,.lvix is the separate metadata file that Lightworks creates for your source file, so that it can log your procedures with the source file.

Lightworks automatically saves as you work, but you can also make a manual backup. This is found in the project menu on the top left corner of the screen when you leave the opening home page where the projects are listed.

When exporting PSD. this is found in image sequence ((BMP, DPX, JPEG, PNG, PSD, TGA, Compressed TGA, TIFF).

You use export to create the final delivered file of your edit. You can make as many versions of the project as you want.

Further information can be found in the V14 User Guide found in downloads > documentation

Yes, I would recommend.

Pay attention to what you want to back up (depending on the import mode, workflow, etc.) and in which folder you want to save the Projekt Backup.
