LW 14 opens fine.
Create the first project.
The video says "Not Analyzed"
Double click and it says "Analyzing..."

I've let it run for hours, but it never gets past that.
I've killed it, restarted, imported instead.
But nothing seems to help.

Hello and Welcome!

This problem is most likely caused by the format of the video files you're trying to import. Some formats cause Lightworks to hang infinitely, that's a know issue and might be fixed with with next release.

To find a workaround for you more information is needed. Please post details of your computer (OS version, CPU, RAM, GPU, HDD) and a Mediainfo report. Here you'll find directions:

This video shouldn't cause trouble when analyzing at least looking at the technical data, but one never knows what happens inside the streams.

How has it been captured, dashcam, webcam?

By the way, is there a specific reason why you didn't post you computer details?

Computer details might be helpful to find possible other causes for your problem and suitable workarounds for your machine.

This is a recording of a Zoom video conference.
I wasn't the one who recorded it, so I don't know any specifics beyond that.

I couldn't find any Lenovo Ideapad U530 with those specs sold here in Europe. Anyway, thanks you for posting this information. I understand what kind of machine you're using.

Please try to convert the affected file using this procedure: www.lwks.com/index.php?option=com_kunena&func=view&catid=6&id=118956&limit=15&limitstart=15&Itemid=81#119003

It will take a while to convert, file size will increase significantly, but you have a good chance to fix the problem (or to detect that the file is damaged).
