Hi there,
Iḿ working on a MX Linux System (64 bit) and had LWKS 14.5 installed and it worked out.
Then I installed the latest .deb from LWKS...cant run the program, after successful install.
Returned to the older Version...worked, re-installed the latest...nothing.
I restarted my computer several times and installed, deleted and re installed both versions several times....only the 14.5 worked.
With the .tar its the same.

And....
Im working on an old laptop (2009) and cant work in multicam-live-edit-mode. I even set the quality to lowest und work with proxys. Is there another way to keep the data low? Like exporting all seuqences and import those files into another project? All original files are bout 33GB. Would it change drastically?
Cheers

Hello,

I'm not sure if it's prudent to discuss compatibility and performance issues on Linux in a thread which obviously deals with a highly uncommon problem on Windows. In a new topic in Linux forums other Linux users may spot it more easily.

Anyway, I assume that you've already decided to stay with V14.5 and your question is about performance in a multicam bin on a highly under-powered computer?
It's better to travel well than to arrive...

Yes I stay with the 14.5 (unfortunaley?)
And....yes I work on a "highly underpowered" computer =(^.^)= But take this question as a general problem, as far as I read on the net. Maybe Iĺl post this in a more appopriate thread. Thanks anyway.

Once started, we can continue with the performance issue.

In general, each simultaneous playing video adds load to the decoder and the playback engine, e.g. 4 simultaneously playing videos quadruple the load on those components. Even when using high performance proxies, when adding videos to a multicam bin, fluent simultaneous playback will find its end, sooner or later, depending on the system resources.

To understand what you're working with, some more information would be helpful:

How many videos do you intend to use for live editing?
What kind of proxies do you use (intern/external, format, bitrate, resolution)?
What are your computer details (CPU, RAM, GPU, system drive)?
It's better to travel well than to arrive...

No need. I've split this off into its own thread.
