Ran into a problem today.
I just got home after a business trip; updated my system (apt update/upgrade), started Lightworks - and suddenly half of my previous projects are blacked out. No video whatsoever. Keep in mind, they were all working just four days ago. Now half of them are completely donked. The audio plays, but nothing from the video.
So - I ran a GPU test and I'm getting:

Memory : 15.3 GB / 23.5 GB
CPUs : 8
Admin : No

Testing host to GPU transfer
501254.36fps

Testing GPU to host transfer
1314.32fps

Testing shader performance
Failed to load shader

Testing playback performance
Failed to load shader

Testing render performance
Failed to load shader

Two things here - the abundance of the "Fail to load shader" error, and the "Admin: no" entry.

I'm not sure what exactly the admin entry is referring to; but this particular user is in the sudoers file. So - if that's ok, then sure. It just looked a bit odd to me.

And the shader errors. Again, not sure if that's the issue here; but it looks pretty bad.

Here is what I believe to be the most relevant system info:
CPU: fx9590 8core
RAM: 24GB
VCARD: Asus TURBO-GTX1060-6G (NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060)

OS: Kubuntu 20.04
Lighworks PRO2020.1

That's about everything I can think of providing that might be useful.
That being said - feel free to ask for more info. I absolutely need to get this figured out yesterday.

Thank you ahead of time for any help you can provide

Hello,

If you absolutely need to get this figured out yesterday, restart you computer and see if it helps, if it doesn't, use a system backup of your OS to fall back to the state prior to updating it.
It's better to travel well than to arrive...

Ya know - that actually worked.

Not sure what sort of black magick you're throwing around over there, but it worked.

"Have you tried turning it off and back on again?" Sometimes, the basics seem to escape us I guess. But that's why we have forums.

Thanks man.

I've had experience in the past with OS updates making OpenGL unusable until the next restart - sounds like you had the same thing
