I just upgraded to 2020.1, but now it won't even start. Don't feel like doing a clean install to 19.3 with current projects underway. If I have to I will, but is there a way to roll back to the previous version of LWKS?

You should be able to if you've got the V14.5 download on your computer.

I would think, Lightworks 2020.1 isn't compatible to Linux Mint 17.3.

It might be possible to fix wrong/missing dependencies on OS Level, but if you are not familiar with those things, I wouldn't recommend trying it.

To roll back, hoping that you still have the V14.5 installer, uninstall 2020.1 and install V14.5 from the GUI.

In theory V2020.1 should work with "Mint 17 and higher" according to the system requirements.

Good point.

I have deleted my Mint 17 VM some time ago, but I still have a 17.3 installer and will set up a new VM to see what happens.

I went ahead and installed 19.3. Gosh, using Linux is like trying start a nuclear reactor at times.

I'm using Manjaro (a rolling release, always up to date) and Lightworks stable never crashed at startup. Some betas had issues with glibc or other libs, but they were fixed by Lightworks devs at a beta stage.

So not every Linux distro is like a nuclear reactor, and not everyone have issues like this

Th,x gOOby. I'm about to rebuild this computer anyway, so It may be time for me to move to a different distro. Is Manjaro based on Arch?

Yes, it's based on Arch. And it's a rolling release and community based distro. It should work OK, but unfortunately nobody will guarantee. Please also note that Manjaro nor Arch are not officially supported by EditShare. So I recommend evaluation before you take all your's stuff and switch to new OS.

Good luck!
