Hey, i'm new to this all scene of editing videos and stuff although there are some things that should be pretty straightforward and they are not.

I'm using a:

i7 Quad-core 2.40Ghz
Nvidia GeForce 750M
8Gb of RAM

I'm recording gameplay from PS4 with HD PVR 2 Gaming Edition, I have set the frame rate to Constant and not variable and although i'm getting breaks lags and video out of sync after importing to lightworks, and when i use vlc or some kind of mediaplayer i don't have any lag or video/sound out of sync. This doesn't happen when i record PS3.

Any thoughts on that?
thx in advance

PS:The output file for the recordings of the HD PVR 2 is mp4

It looks like the recording is H.264 AVCHD 1080p30 or 1080i60.

"Recording formats
1080p60p (recorded as 1080p30)
1080p50p (recorded as 1080p25)
1080i60
1080i50
720p60
720p50
480p60
480i60
576p50
576i50"

There is no mention of constant or variable frame rate on the spec page.

I understand. It has been my experience that even if you set constant frame rate in your capture software, the frame rate is still varied to accommodate hardware and the complexity of action being captured. It's one of the things that can cause stuttering during preview in Lightworks.

I wonder what the resolution and format of the video is. It's not unusual to see 1920x1080 material that is in compressed form drag Lightworks down. The common practice is to convert compressed media (H.264 AVCHD) to something easier to digest by the editor. That would be a codec like Mpeg2 I-frame or Prores. Have you tried transcoding the source video upon import to Lightworks?

Transcoding via Lightworks should cure the second problem. If the video is variable frame rate, then you'll need to straighten that out before you try to import to Lightworks.
