I've been trying for two days now to solve this. I have a screen recording in MP4 format that is running oddly in LW. Video is running faster than the audio and will freeze every 10-20 Frames. Tried to convert it in Eyeframe to see if that would fix the issue. No dice. Read that Cineform codec can sometimes work better but that caused more problems. Here is the media information.

Format : MPEG-4
Format profile : Base Media / Version 2
Codec ID : mp42
File size : 1.47 GiB
Duration : 8mn 24s
Overall bit rate : 25.0 Mbps

Video
ID : 1
Format : AVC
Format/Info : Advanced Video Codec
Format profile : High@L4.2
Format settings, CABAC : Yes
Format settings, ReFrames : 1 frame

Source duration : 8mn 24s
Bit rate mode : Variable
Bit rate : 24.8 Mbps

Minimum frame rate : 29.985 fps
Maximum frame rate : 60.060 fps
Color space : YUV
Chroma subsampling : 4:2:0
Bit depth : 8 bits
Scan type : Progressive
Bits/(Pixel*Frame) : 0.200
Stream size : 1.46 GiB (99%)
Source stream size : 1.46 GiB (99%)
mdhd_Duration : 74969

Audio
ID : 2
Format : AAC
Format/Info : Advanced Audio Codec
Format profile : LC
Codec ID : 40
Duration : 8mn 24s
Source duration : 8mn 24s
Bit rate mode : Constant
Bit rate : 192 Kbps
Channel(s) : 2 channels
Channel positions : Front: L R
Sampling rate : 48.0 KHz
Compression mode : Lossy
Stream size : 11.9 MiB (1%)
Source stream size : 11.9 MiB (1%)
mdhd_Duration : 75025

Any help would be appreciated. I use the free version of lightworks currently 12.0.1

VFR is one of your problems -

Frame rate mode : Variable
Frame rate : 60.000 fps
Minimum frame rate : 29.985 fps
Maximum frame rate : 60.060 fps

- and it's likely your total system bandwidth is another. Notionally 60fps 25Mbps AVC needs a lot of grunt to move along. You'd be much better off using a codec purpose built for editing rather than acquisition.

If you have converted to constant frame rate in EyeFrame yet have segments that 'stall', edit them out. It's going to change your audio so you'll need to do that, too.

Fixed the issue. Converted the file at a lower FPS than I recorded and the video smoothed out.

Any frame rate below 29.985 fps should so that. What frame rate did you settle on?
