Ello. I've seen a few topics about imported videos getting the sides cut off but I can't find a fix for it. Whenever I import a video file(note the file is a avi format, and is recorded in 1920x1200 using Fraps) the sides get cut off as if the resolution was messed up or something. Yet when I check the raw recording everything is all good, and it just messes up when I import it. Anyone got a clue on how to fix this? Anyways thank ya in advance hope to hear of a way to fix it.

I get the exact same problem with my 1680x1050 video. Not only do the sides get cut off, the video is also stretched horizontally. Since I record source games, I record an in-game demo file. When I want to record the actual video, I will set my monitor to 720p and open the game at 720p. I use the free version of light works, but you can try 1080p. This gives me in-game video in a 16:9 aspect ratio. This is the only fix I have been able to find, and it is limited to Source games. Hope I am a little helpful. The only true solution I've found is buying a 16:9 monitor, which I plan to do.

Yeh I found that I have to make sure to record in 1920 x 1080 (1920 x 1200 is my native resolution) if I want the video to look fine. So if you record make sure you do it in 1080p or Lightworks will through a hissy fit.
