I know this will be pointed elsewhere but this is where I start. Does the above mentioned board integrate fully with Lightworks? Can't seem to get LWKS output to show via it's HDMI output?

Hello,

I suspect that you're talking about this device:

I can't remember heaving heard about anybody on the forum using this card. Since it is an I/O device it should be supported and create valid signals, at least on the SDI connectors. HDMI is not mentioned in Limitations and Known Problems of most recent Release Notes, so it should work or, it isn't in focus at all or, you have trouble with your device/driver.

Do you have valid output on SDI?

Edit: Searching the forum for "Decklink HD extreme" there are some hits 6 years back, but those refers to truly different versions of Lightworks and nothing about HDMI in this context I can find.
It's better to travel well than to arrive...

Hi, thanks, yes that is my I/O card, BM Decklink Extreme 3. I used to use it in a 'professional environment' but now (retired) used for non pro material! It works fine with Avid MC 6 and PremPro CS6 and it's own capture software BM media express but nothing in LWKS 14.4. It sees the driver, Blackmagic WDM but there is no evidence of incoming video OR audio, trying to capture from SHVS which can be done in BM media express et al and no output to monitor, HDMI or Component......

OK, trawled through old Decklink references and found ‘Hardware’ in system settings (used to instruction book!) and thar she blows, all outputs working 9and test signals) but no system sound when I/O device set, shame?

Still no input though, I have all the Decklink input options showing, trying to input SVHS, input set to that but just says ‘offline’ I guess because there’s no serial connection but also think there has to be a way to ‘Wild capture’ from an external source?

Sorry I didn’t see the hardware option - can you use system sound at the same time?

Not in LW that has been set to use the BMD card - it may be necessary to configure the BMD card to do the necessary digital to analogue sound conversion which could then be accessed via the BMD break-out cable.

Or possibly better still configure the BMD card to included sound on the HDMI output.

Am guessing that would be possible - here we have a system with a BMD card of about the same vintage and have it configured to embed sound on the SDI output - which is routed to the edit desk SDI monitor and we have an SDI to audio extractor feeding the edit desk sound monitors

That's what eBay is for. Just make sure it works before you bid!

You need to pay for the pro license to use a decklink or other external video board with Lightworks.
