Welcome to the forum.

So far as I'm aware, not so far, it's not supported, but no harm in experimenting.

What is the specification of your computer?

Hello,

Chrome OS is basically an enhanced web client, based on a Unix kernel, mainly designed and optimized for cloud computing. However, I just found that there's a way to install Linux apps on Chrome OS. This feature seems to be in a very early state of development. See this link for more details:
www.howtogeek.com/363331/how-to-set-up-and-use-linux-apps-on-chrome-os/

It shows APT packet manager, used e.g. from Ubuntu. Thus, the Debian package of Lightworks should be the one to experiment with.

I would think that on common Chrome Books editing performance will be very bad due to low computer performance - if it installs and run at all due OS differences.

If you consider trying, let us know how it works for you.
It's better to travel well than to arrive...
