Created a project but video glitched and froze. Wont completely uninstall for me to reinstall. It says there is a file open in another program.

Uninstalling is probably unnecessary in any case. If you reinstall with faulty video, exactly the same thing will happen when you start Lightworks again. However if you really want to do that, reboot your computer first. That should release any files that other software is holding on to. If it doesn't there may be other issues.

A better idea would be to find out what the problem is with the video. To help fix problems of that sort we need at least a minimum amount of information. You should read this thread to see what is needed and how to obtain and post it.

Then I feel sure that someone will be able to offer you some assistance.

There is no problem with the raw video. Its fine in other programs, but doesn't run right in Lightworks. New computer running Windows 10. Lightworks was the the first download on the system. The file that would not release was lw3. I finally got it out and reinstalled Lightworks, and it still wont run video correctly.

I read the suggested thread and downloaded MediaInfo. I analyzed a clip, but have no idea what I'm looking for.

That's why it would be a good idea to post it together with your computer details, could look like this, for example:

That doesn't mean that it's OK as far as Lightworks is concerned. Editing software has different requirements to simple playback tools. Launch MediaInfo, go to text mode and export what you see there.

I have no idea how to do that Besides, I don't think its a problem with my computer or my video because video plays fine in every other player/editor I have tried. I think its a Lightworks issue, maybe a bad installation. Probably just easier to use a different program.

Didn't know 4k video as a problem. Found proxy to reduce quality for editing.

It takes a long time, but seems to be the fix.

I believe Lightworks is much more of a program than I will ever need or use, and I'm not real tech savvy. Hence, the thought that I might just need to find something simpler.

Thanks for the help.
