Well, there's no need to make pressure on the developers - the're working unbelievably hard already. But thanks for your enthusiasm, and you're right: Multi-Platform Lightworks will be a milestone for Mac and Linux when it's released.

Hey pinkflood
Well I am a Mac user with similar hopes. Lightworks will be a revolution - because if you havent heard, the new versions of Final Cut are absolutely terrible, and the old ones are outdated. I have been pressuring the forum administrators as well, and i have come to the conclusion that LW probably wont be out for a while on our platforms, so in case you feel like waiting, i advise trying something called Kdenlive, which is another open sourced editor that I have heard great things about. Yes, it has Linux support.

Dear Pinkflood,

if I may interrupt KDenlive doens't require you to run KDE, it should only install the required libraries and run in fluxbox flawlessly except for possibly no support of drag n drop videos from file browser to editor. You would need to use the import dialog box.
Kind regards,
Danas

Don't be surprised if Lightworks requires KDE or Gnome to operate.

From the playing I've done on Gnome 3, I think it will make life a lot easier to develop the GUI for Lightworks. The only info I have had from the developers is that they are starting on Ubuntu and will work out from there, doesn't Ubuntu use Gnome as the default GUI manager?

Ubuntu uses gtk and gnome applications, but does not use Gnome Shell. It uses their own shell leveraging compiz iirc.
