Not really.

Make sure that your footage is detected as/set to interlaced when importing and then, try your luck with the parameter 'Frame-based Origin'.

If you have a current issue and can't fix it, you should consider trying the latest 2021 beta and posting in beta forums including sample media, if the issue persists.

The current version 2020.1.1 can do that too.

In the metadata panel of the imported interlaced clip tile, you can change the field order of the imported clip in the "Video format" line.

In the list view of the project content, the "Frame-based Origin" column also has an influence on how Lightworks interprets the order of the fields.

I missed that. You are right, but it's only available for interlaced SD media, not HD, as far as I can see?

Schrauber, can you imagine any good reason why the settings are available under 'Video format' on the metadata panel, but not on the content manager?

Edit: Anyway, I posted in beta forums: www.lwks.com/index.php?option=com_kunena&func=view&catid=556&id=231413&Itemid=81

comprehensive replies, thank you. However, recently added Macbook pro to editing stable and doesn't appear to have that or many other options in metadata. Also no frame rate or raster options in 'project'. looks like I may have to return to the 'Beast' (workstation)?

I don't know. I don't have any HD interlaced media in my test project. I would have expected it to be available whenever the Frame-based Origin switch is toggleable as well.

In the same vein.......

In OSX I can’t find a decent way to capture from DV. Tried iMovie but looks like it may be frame rather than field capture? About to try capture via QuickTime but guess that may encode as QT file?

Any ideas if there are any other (non degrading) ways or apps to use as (free) capture tool on MBP other than FCP?

Also tried using VM’s with PPro and Avid but there’s no support for FireWire!

DV capture isn't a frequently used process nowadays. I'm afraid that you won't receive many answers to your question:

While waiting, see if this video provides some inspiration:

Thanks. Just trying to do everything on one platform. I’m past the import point, got all the bits just wanted a lossless method of ingestion without paying again for PPro or yet another editing package.

Back to the windows workstation!

I've never used it, but you could check this out: www.scenalyzer.com/

WinDV is another possibility, again I haven't used it.
