it is a sad day in Lenovo land my trusty D30 took in its last electron. I rushed my good friend to the nearest hospital on Monday, today Friday I was told it could be a memory or a motherboard problem. It takes 1 hour to check a memory chip and there are 16 of them the clocks runs at $100 hour. I took it in for a second opinion and was told that Lenovo doesn't like to sell parts; but take a look at our gaming computers. Right now I am writing this on a a 3 year old HP Elitebook that that exports almost as fast as the D30

Damn Covid-19 is now infecting computers! I hope you have kept it isolated!

Unless your Lenovo was a celebrity or politician, you will not be allowed a proper funeral.

Well, Covid IS a virus!
I work in Manhattan, USA, but at night I cross the waters to sleep in Brooklyn, USA.

Also, post production is not an afterthought!

Obviously none of us have enough to do with our time at the moment!

Maybe it will become an organ donor. There are 16 8GB ram modules, A NVIDIA K4000, 2 Xeon processors, USB 3.0 and a 1395 port adapter along with a power supply that has heated the office during the coldest winter month here in the Great White North.

Now the BIG question what do I replace it with??????

I have more than enough to do. Catching up on a backlog of "I'll put this off until tomorrows" I am working on digitizing tons of photographic slides. My Berlin trip in '83. The Yukon Quest in '95, Whitehorse '93.
Winters coming time to cut firewood and the list goes on and on and. I am really enjoying this lock down

Thanks
It will not boot from the USB stick even though the BIOS 1st boot option is the USB.

if it still boots maybe you can install it from apt-get, then choose it from the grub boot menu, i seem to remember doing so many moons ago.

otherwise i can't help you with booting on your particular setup, i never installed linux on anything that new!
