if you get some "360 footage" in and have to render scenes out for lightworks,
you can download boris FX VR nodes for free - ends: may/31.

borisfx.com/products/continuum-units/continuum-vr/

as lwks has no OFX support yet, you have to start your fav. OFX host, eg. NATRON (which is open source).

ps. you don't have to tell natron what it is.

Mac: /Library/OFX/Plugins/
Linux: /usr/OFX/Plugins/

Thank you for the infos.

Installing and all worked, but Natron is not recognizing any new plugins i think. Even if I dial in the paths in the preferences menu. But as i said I m not experienced at all with natron and it seems a bit buggy on my linux mint (crashes sometimes...)

is there any other OFX host for linux I could test this?

Thanks again!

thanks s,

unfortunately i am ".ofx challenged" I m just realising. I can´t find a list at openeffects.org/ could you send a link?

also I **think** i installed the continuum ofx plugins via wine on my linux machine. but here comes again something i dont get:

ofx plugins just need to be copied into the ofx directory and then found by a plugin host, right? or is there a platform specific install process and different plugins for linux / windows etc? as i understood it is a cross platform standard and this is not necessary..

So I could copy a borisFX .ofx file into /usr/OFX/Plugins/ and thats it?

for continuum vr: is this possible in the same way or is it not available as a ofx? looks like i need to install a platform specific suite that is just available for mac and win..

sorry for my ignorance, hope I will wrap my head around this soon..

still ofx needs binaries for the different os versions.
eg. ELF files on irix/linux, DLLs on win etc.
but boris just provides support for the VR tools for win/mac, so the ofx host, which loads the plugins must also run under windows or osx.

thank you for clarifying!! So the plugin host and the plugin must run on the same OS, or - in case it works - I would need to run both on the wine windows emulation under linux. I would not be able to open a boris fx plugin installed via wine with Natron installed on linux directly....
