One of our developers posted some tips about collecting information about your system's configuration. It's useful stuff if you need to report a problem, so I'm reproducing it here.

There will be useful information in the public documents\Lightworks\logs folder.

For every runup of lightworks there will a *.cab file with debug information in it which includes system and application event logs, Lightworks error.log, and any crash dump file if the application crashed. The archive is created on the next runup of the application and stored in the logs\backup folder.

The most recent file in the backup folder will be called LogsBackup.01.cab, then .02, up to a limit of 30 files.

In addition you may want to generate a system.nfo file which gives details of you hardware and software configuration (we used to do this automatically, but unfortunately on Win7 it uses up a lot of CPU initially, ho-hum).

You can produce a system.nfo as follows:
1) Windows Start menu > Run
2) enter 'MSINFO32' > OK
3) in System Information dialog box: File > Save
4) ensure 'save as type = System Information File (*.NFO)' > enter name and save.

These files will certainly be useful in tracking down issues.
You can now upload ZIP files to forum posts
